PRESS RELEASE APRIL - 2006 Justice for Athletes ("JFA") is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring a grant in the amount of
$10,000 to facilitate the Federation Internationale D'Escrime ("FIE") in its training camp for young athletes
to be held in Taebaek City (Korea) during April, 2006 (the "Camp"). The Camp will be attended by boys
and girls (ages 13-20) from 30 developing countries. One fencer from each country will participate in the
Camp.
JFA's goal in supporting the Camp is to enable youth from developing countries to participate in an
elite level training facility and give them the opportunity to both improve their individual abilities and
promote the ideals of sportsmanship, ethics and fair play in their home countries, where they can act as
role models.
All of the youth from the Camp are entitled to participate in JFA's Culture, Education, Sport and
Ethics Program ("CESEP™"). CESEP™ is a program directly operated by JFA devoted to promoting
understanding of sports and ethics among the children of the world (www.cultureandsport.com).
The CESEP™ program is designed to permit teachers, counselors and students (ages 6-18) from
around the globe to exchange ideas about the culture of sport and competing in healthy and drug free
environments and on a level playing field.
To date, a dozen international groups, including the United Nations and the World Anti-Doping Agency, have agreed to participate in the CESEP™ program with the goal of reaching teachers, students,
and educational participants from over 100 countries. |
