Welcome!
About us:
Justice for Athletes (JFA) serves a broad cross-section. The mission of
JFA is to use participation in sports as a vehicle for teaching youngsters:
- To problem-solve
and build self-esteem.
- To work with peers.
- To strive for
excellence.
- To manage anger
and stress.
- To develop a sense
of fair play and ethics.
JFA focuses on programs
for youth nationwide. Within this broad arena, we give special emphasis
to those groups or communities that are most in need. These are often
communities of lower income. However, we are trying not to duplicate services
already being provided to those communities through other resources.
While serving all youth, JFA gives special attention to sectors of the
population known to be underserved by current sports programs: women,
minorities, the physically challenged or developmentally disabled, and
youth in areas where the risk of involvement in delinquency is particularly
high.
JFA's funds are aimed primarily to youth who are not at elite levels of
sports accomplishment.
